by Bhargavi Gopalan
A lustrous garland of songs for dance! Shiva, the all pervasive Lord of cosmic dance; Muruga, the valiant, handsome Lord riding a peacock; Krishna, the ebullient, ever-charming yet conniving lover in Hindu mythology; and saint Thyagaraja, the beacon of classical carnatic music. Songs in praise of these glorious deities of classicism have been selectively chosen and presented, to exhibit the fascinating hues and shades of Bharatanatyam.
This is an artistic endeavour by Kum. Bhargavi Gopalan, who is a disciple of Smt. K.J. Sarasa. Bhargavi, a recipient of many prestigious awards and titles like Nadanamaamani, Yuva Kala Bharati, Natya Sironmani, is being trained in Abhinaya by Smt. Priyadarshini Govind. An “A” grade artiste with the Doordarshan, Bhargavi has performed widely in India and abroad.
